Well, it's looks like I'm not staying on Blogger for long! My webspace is finally back up, and I decided not to go back to Blosxom as it has its serious drawbacks. Not least the fact that not all of my blog is on my backup directory - because I blogged from files on various computers, the originals are on all those computers. I've decided to go to what seems to be the most popular blogging engine, which is Movable Type - apart from anything else, it seems like nearly all the competition require the blogger to use MySQL or some other database package, which would cost me 50 quid. So Wordpress, Geeklog and the rest are out of the picture.
And it wasn't sabotage. It was a simple hardware failure - well, it was a huge hardware failure, which led to the wrecking of the server's entire "redundancy" - i.e. the entire collection of disks on which my old site was held. So I'm going to have to re-upload the whole lot, which of course I should do this evening, insha Allah.
