Actually my understanding is that COBRA is not an insurance plan but a law that allows an employee to stay enrolled in the health insurance plan that was offered by their employer for a certain amount of time after they lose their jobs. So it is not a name for a specific plan, it is the name of the law. The actual plan would be with whatever insurance plan the employer was using.

I found it odd that she nevers mentions who fathered her first child, where did he go? Does he provide support to her and is he also an evil moooooslim?

I don't think the account is totally fictional, I just think its extremely exagerated and uses racial stereotypes freely instead of just accepting the fact that she married a loser. There are tons of men here who act like prince charming when trying to court a women, then turn to an ass afterwards - it's hardly exclusive to arab muslims, but people here like to pretend that it's only nasty forners who behave like that.

There are tons of men, at least here in the states, that beat and rape their wives and their own daughters frequently. In some parts of the country, incest is very common.

I very well belive this story is real and the guy she married is a creep, but she is equally a complete loser and writing this article as a 'warning' to other women is an excercise in bigotry masquerading as a public service.

BTW, C.O.B.R.A. insurance is a plan set up by Pres. Clinton so that people could extend the insurance they got from their employer for 6 months after they left that job. It wouldn't be unusual for someone to just write cobra insurance as a matter of laziness (I do it frequently (though I wouldn't if it were going to be published somewhere)).

Assalamu alaikum, Mashallah, for the review of this article. I wanted to write a better one than what I'd originally written when posting the article, but I just didn't have the patience.
