I am in the process of changing the design of this blog. Everything will, insha Allah work, as normal, but colours may change and things may be places in which they normally aren't. I am changing the theme due to the continual problem of the right sidebar appearing in the wrong place.
Update: I have now got hold of the updated version of Almost Spring from Becca Wei's website, and implemented her fix for the IE sidebar problem in my three-column version. So the current theme will stay for a while, insha Allah.
Yes. I think you need a more vibrant theme with some ianimate graphics such as geometric patterns. The current theme is too flat and perhaps the reason why it is easy to get upset on this forum :( hehe!
LOL. Isn't it easy to criticise when you're anonymous? Yusuf's blog colours are calming. It's his ideas that get his readers riled up. ;-)
By the way, Yusuf, the right sidebar was showing up on IE before you updated it.
Salaams Safiyyah, the sidebar was showing up in the right place on some versions of IE and not others. I tested it out with BT Yahoo browser, which is an IE derivative. It was at the bottom before I did the update, and on the right, as it should be, after.

You are right. Being anonymous seemingly lifts a lot of responsibility off ones head. I can say rubbish if I want ;) Somebody caught me typing idiot to another person the other day...and the person asked me if I would talk that way if we were all were sitting around the same table. That got me thinking a lot on how responsible we should be both in anonymity and in the open.
Anyway, sorry that's off the point.
Re the graphics... I think some graphics will help... cos it will stick and will make posters recall this blog easily....i.e will help form some association. But don't take my word for it... this is not my area. dunno anything about blog design!

Please don't change the design of this blog, it's fine as it is. The current design allows people like me at work to discreetly view blogs without all the bright colours and annoying graphics. With the current design I can minimize the window and fool anyone walking past my computer that i'm working on a Word document. If you jazz it up it will just draw attention to my screen, and everyone will know that i'm surfing the net and not doing work, as i should be!!!!!!!!!!
I've been trying forever to figure out how to change the Almost Spring theme to three columns...is this theme your using modified from Almost Spring? Did you download this from Becca Wei's site?
