A new edition of the Islamic classic Dalaa'il al-Khairaat has been published, with a beautiful MP3 of the text's recitation (via Seeker's Digest). The page (the default page just contains a picture of the book and the MP3) also has an introduction by Shaikh Nuh, who explains its importance and the process of the current edition's publication; there is also a piece by the shaikh on the text itself. The standard version costs £25 (UK); there are also limited-edition deluxe and super-deluxe versions, which cost £150 and £360 respectively.

In one of the pages of the dalail - at the finale chapter - after a torrent of decompressed praises on the Prophet (peace be upon him) - the praises exploded like apocalyptic volcanoes throughout the book...often seismic leaving nothing for the mind to pollute....
...comes a gentle prayer that seem to still everything before and after it - almost in an hypnotic tone -somewhere between salawats and dua's - reads:
"O Allah, O Possessor of favour whose graciousness cannot be matched and generosity whose blessing and kindness cannot be repaid. We ask You by Youself, And we are not asking You by anyone other than Yourself- that You divorce (tutliq) our tongues from questioning/asking (You)..."
Imagine being deaf, dumb and blind... and just witnessing your own existential misery/happiness, or whatever.
However, strangely tho.. but not unexpected ...the author then follows this with a comprehensive praise of Allah and a rather unrelenting supplication - asking Allah for everything.
That was interesting! Unless I have read the chapter wrong?
In the last paragraph, he supplicated as follows:
"So I ask You, O Allah, to efface everything You dislike from my heart and to fill my heart with fear of You, Your gnosis, dread of You, desire for what is with You, security and well-being. Incline to us with mercy and blessings from You, and inspire us with right action and wisdom.
O Allah, we ask You for the knowledge of the fearful, repentance of the humble, sincerity of the certain, the gratitude of the patient and the repentance of the truthful.
O Allah, we ask You by the light of Your face which fills the corners of Your Throne, to cultivate Your gnosis in my heart until I know You with the truth of gnosis as one must know You by it.
