George, I have actually read a piece on this topic in one of the U.K newspapers, unfortunately can’t remember which one off the top of my head but can search for it.

Imran, Not only is it a futile effort, some of the time I think it has the opposite impact to what the Islamophobes want: they are looking to alienate Islam and Muslims by convincing the West that Islam is an alien religion that has no place in their society but actually more and more people in the West are converting to Islam through first coming across this sinister propaganda. Fear and curiosity drives them to find out for themselves what Islam really is all about and so they end up reading the Qur’an.

Anyone else notice how Daniel Pipes, the biggest bigot Islamophobe Zionist on earth has now got his sights on Hispanic converts in America? He is trying to play down the numbers that are converting…claiming that actually, it is mostly Black Americans that are converting, he then goes on to urge fellow Zionists to start lobbying hard Hispanic senators. He of course recognises Hispanics could be the future power brokers in U.S politics by their sheer number and for them to convert to Islam in large numbers would be bad news for Islamophobes like him.

While I seriously doubt that most of the Islamophobic websites/blogs I’ve come across receive any systematic funding (most, but not all), I do strongly believe that there are very large numbers of hateful, ignorant, bigoted people out there for whom Islam is the hate du jour. These people don’t need funding because they are the “true” believers.

I also get the impression that someone or some agency is funding Islamophobic websites out there and paying people to make derogatory comments about Islam. What purpose this serves? God knows- because it’s futile.

Got any hard evidence on this? I’ve always wondered why there were so damn f*ing many Islamophobic weblogs. If those blogs were in fact run by paid shills, it would explain a lot…
