Firefox 1.5 warning

| 3 Comments | No TrackBacks

Mozilla FireFox 1.5 has just been released, with a whole list of new features. Using it on my Mac it doesn't look any different, and they don't seem earth-shattering although they do include a number of new web standards. Anyone who uses it for lengthy writing, however, would be advised to save their work regularly as it has a tendency to lose it, particularly after switching between browser tabs. I've lost entries because of this, and there is no reference to it in the changelog which means it hasn't been fixed from the pre-release versions. There are blog composition programs like ecto, w.Bloggar and Qumana which allow you to compose entries in a proper text editor rather than in a browser interface, which is preferable for a lot of people even without this problem in Firefox. Oh crap. I've just upgraded. It is bad also for windows?

I'm not sure if it affects any other version besides the Mac version. I've never been that keen on Mac Firefox anyway.

Yeah, I've been nervous about upgrading on my mac yet. Want to make sure all my extensions have time to fix themselves. Could never live without SessionSaver!
