Hence you get people attacking Bush's foreign policy on the basis that it is inspired by Christian fundementalism which is of course completely false. We also have the term "Islamo-fascism" coming originally from Trotskyist Christopher Hitchens. What "fundementalist islam" has to do with Italien fascism (an ideology strongly rooted in the twentieth century european context) is beyond me. It's like everything bad must be right-wing in origin. As Yusuf also mentioned I object to communists (Trotskyist or otherwise) characterizing themselves as democracy or human rights advocates. Communism is by definition a dictatorship of the proletariat.
