Quick does not merely disapprove of homosexuality; he thinks it’s a good idea to kill homosexuals. One problem is that “moderate proponents of normative, traditional Islam” are- in the eyes of anyone except muslims- just anoother set of intolerant bigots.

That is such a joke. The only other people I’ve ever come across who are as intolerant as the “liberal” Muslims are the far right Salafis in the US — the ones people refer to as the “Kufaar Police” and such.
