BBC NEWS: Is this the end for ‘fake sheikh’?
An analysis of the attempt by Mazher Mahmood, a reporter on the Murdoch-owned News of the World who entraps people into dropping themselves in it one way or another by posing as an Arab sheikh, despite not speaking Arabic, to get three men to buy radioactive “red mercury” so that he could expose them as terrorists. They claim they wanted to shop him to the police in Norway. (I’m surprised this guy can get away with his fake sheikh trick for this long given that he doesn’t speak Arabic, and I’m glad he won’t get away for much longer - some of his scoops have involved entrapping people into screwing up their business as with Prince Edward’s wife. He’s a scoundrel who works for a trashy rag.)
