SocietyGuardian.co.uk" "Don't you want to know why I'm bleeding?"
An article from the Society supplement in today's Guardian on victims of racist attacks in the UK and how difficult it can be for them to get justice. In this case, the police were quick to get hold of the victim's husband (after he chased the attacker and the police were told of a black man with a big knife), but were markedly sloppy about investigating the racist attack.

That's atrocious - and racist - behaviour by the police. The husband was acting in self-defence - in law this includes defending your family.
Why is the balance in this country in favour of the criminal, not the victim?
Why is the balance in this country in favour of the criminal, not the victim?
Because if an innocent person is punished then you end up with two crimes instead of just the one.
That's the reasoning anyway.
The attackers were arrested and eventually convicted. It may not have been carries out perfectly, but it was done. When the police arrived they arrested the first person they saw carrying what looked like a weapon- pretty reasonable behaviour.
