This is an article, which lasted several pages in the print edition with photos, about a number of British Muslims and what they did the Friday before last. They run from the musician Aki Nawaz to a niqab-wearing Qur'an teacher in Leicester, and takes in quite a few in between. They even allow Anjem Choudhary to get one of his diatribes in, which is quite amusing given that this is the kuffar's newspaper after all.

There are two sides to this. One the one hand, research shows that Muslims tend to appear in the British media primarily as MUSLIMS first and foremost, rather than as, say, academics or footballers. This extended feature doesn't challenge that framework. Muslims need to be better included within stories on mainstream issues. Pieces like this one opens us up to accusations of 'special treatment' by the so-called 'modern racists'.
But having said that, this piece does include a much wider range of Muslims than the media usually allow into their copy, including a senior naval officer. No female Muslim MPs, of course, because - and correct me if I'm wrong on this - there aren't any!

"Muslims need to be better included within stories on mainstream issues. "
They are- it's just that no-one discusses the fact they are muslims unless that is the most important thing about them or the story. The result is that the newspapers' idea of a muslim derives from "professional" muslims.
