Via Islamophobia Watch, a rally to “defend freedom of religion, conscience and thought” and “end attacks on Muslims” is to be held tomorrow (Monday 20th) at Methodist Central Hall (in Westminster, across the road from the Abbey) from 6pm to 9:30pm. It is organised by the British Muslim Initiative and Liberty; speakers include the usual Livingstones, Benns and Corbyns, Dominic Grieve, Dr Abdul-Bari and Iqbal Sacranie (MCB), Anas Altikriti (MAB), Shami Chakrabarti, Sayeeda Warsi (Tory vice-chair), Salma Yaqoob (MAB/Respect), Tariq Ramadan, David Edgar of Destiny and Playing with Fire fame, Christina Odone (see this article of hers in today’s Observer) and Ismail Patel, and many others. They do not say if it costs anything to get in.

What a motley bunch. Christina Odone’s article is particularly muddle-headed.
If these people genuinely believe in freedom of speech, that has to include freedom to say nasty things about Islam or any other religion/belief.
In other words:
We believe if freedom of religion, conscience, and thought - so SHUT UP!
Actually Salma Yaqoob is very nice but she’s not in MAB.
