Since Akismet was released it's become as spam-proof as can be. I've received over 11 thousand spam comments in under a year, and not one has made it past my moderation list, *at worst*. Plus previous commenters bypass the moderation queue altogether. Sorry, I will get the Typekey thing fixed. I know this is probably a bit unfair, but you should consider a switch back to WordPress.
