<description>What is a community but a bunch of people with a common contempt for people who don&#039;t share their common delusions or prejudices?

		<description>i hear you bro.

but i dont like it when i am spoken on behalf of, by anyone other than myself.

we muslims are a a community of faith, but we can be daft and conflate categories. The Ummah is a great concept and is real to the extent that we make it i feel.

why should my political mobility be dictated by conservative salafi elements who share a lot with me, but who i would never follow to anywhere other than say sainsburys.

the attack on the idea of community (espeically ones to describe you an I) comes from the sense of loss that some feel, urbanisation and migration muddle up relationship networks, old parish congregations weaken...

the east is starting to feel such dislocations, but in the west i think this lonelinessis at a peak. Thats not to say that western volunteerism is weak.

<description>I didn&#039;t notice MECOs position on hadith when I researched them, though I should have suspected given they include a link to The Submitters on their site.

<description>Interesting. I don&#039;t really like the MCB because of the Holocaust boycott, it is possible to lobby for a genocide memorial day whilst paying your respects. Though I recognize that the MCB is very valuable to the community.

Quite frankly I find it tiring being a Muslim in Britain. I&#039;m not very political by nature, but being apolitical is very difficult given the current world situation.
