Where have I said TJ are political and/or radical? I merely subtly (a mistake when the quacksalve’s around, I agree) pointed out that they aren’t unique in having “a tendency to look down on Muslims who do not practise Islam their way”. Perhaps you could give an example of muslims who don’t have that tendency.

Unlike…er…er…

If you think your beliefs are right then inevitably you’re going to think everyone else is wrong. If you think you’re right and that god agrees with you too then you’re inevitably going to have an even lower opinion of everyone else. There’s the further tendency of such people to regard those who ahven’t quite got it right but persist in interpreting things differently as much worse than those who are ignorant or indifferent.

There are strong logistic reasons for opposing the proposed mosque, but they aren’t as strong as the reasons for oposing the Olympic Games and at least the mosque’s builders don’t expect everyone else in London for a few generations to come to subsidise their ego-trip.

The CPA are opportunists of the worst order. I didn’t previously mention that they were actually courting the votes of TJ/deobandi mosques in Glasgow.
