The second is bigoted morons, whose view of Islam is shaped by reading sensationalised coverage of issues relating to Islam and Muslims in inferior newspapers like the Daily Spew.

I agree with everything you say here except this bit. The Daily Spew (Sun, Mail, Whatever) has never condoned or “understood” thug violence against Muslims as an appropriate response.

Thersites: I think she is talking about everyday civility and being able to walk down the street without attracting stares and hostility by people who imagine that she is connected with terrorism. I understand that the UK has a vastly freer political and academic culture, but just being able to mind their own business is more important to many people.

For once we agree, though Mr Qasin had a good point when “he appealed to the Muslims in the UK not to undertake acts of terrorism because it would give the religion a bad name”. However, it is amusing to find that someone is “giving up on the UK because of the disgusting behaviour of its people”. Is she going to Colonel Ghadaffy’s haven of decency democracy and respect for human rights then?
