Ingrid Mattson on Woman's Hour
BBC - Radio 4 Woman's Hour - Ingrid Mattson
This is an interview I heard today while out driving; Ingrid Mattson (president of the Islamic Society of North America and the first female, first non-immigrant and first convert to hold that post) tells basically her life story, talks a bit about her new book "The Story of the Koran", and fields a few questions on Islam and what it offers women. The download is in Real format and will probably keep up for a week.

i always praise my Lord for Him granting the permission of any soul to achieve enlightenment in any way and this is no exception. when it is a woman in todays macho islamophobic western "civilised" society that calls for some praise!
strange not to see too many posters comments about a native european sister who is articulate and intelligent and leads the canadian Muslim community.
could it be that this is.....classified as boring and insignificant by the ego and pride of male muslim posters as well as the jealousy of the insidious and non-muslim posters to the achievements of a Muslim white woman?
