"not absurd at all to reject the trinity."
Why? Like I said, an omnipotent god- by definition- can take literally any form with equal likelihood, including the trinity. Everything is equally (im)probable.

" One may accept that the lead god came down to earth and became a white bull to make love to a beautiful woman, but as a muslim I think this illogical, and somewhat distasteful. But then I am not an ancient Greek."
However, the ancient Greeks did not believe in omnipotent gods, nor that the gods were good, nor- in the case of educated men- did they "believe" in the gods in the way that muslims and christians seem to "believe" in their concepts of god. The fact that something is illogical is irrelevant to whether or not it is distasteful and vice-versa.

" But then muslims believe that people were born with an innate ability to discern right from wrong."
A belief that has no more evidence in its favour than any other.

It's not "another matter" in the UK...

Tell that to Salman Rushdie.

And in Israel, Germany or the UK, yes, there is freedom (legally) to convert out of Islam. But under Islam there isn't, so in countries that impose Sharia there isn't.

Even in the West, members of one religion in particular have been known to take matters into their own hands when it comes to leavers. And it sure ain't Judaism.

It's not "another matter" in the UK or Germany or, for that matter, Israel, which is what that story was about.

Judaism is a very difficult religion to convert to. Potential converts have to study for ages, and don't always get accepted. Would guilt alone carry you through it? Sometimes, maybe, but not often.

Christianity is easy to convert to, but it is easy to backslide.

Islam is easy to convert to - correct me if I'm wrong, but you just have to say a few words - but converting out of it is another matter.

It's absurd to be "unconvinced by the trinity" and accept an omnipotent god. An omnipotent god- by definition- can take literally any form with equal likelihood, including the trinity.

As for these people, most of them seem not to have had convinced nazis among their ancestors but morally indifferent acquiescers. There's been a long tradition- going back to the reformation at least- of Germans becoming jews to evade the theological complications of christianity; not a great number, but a steady trickle. As for going to Israel, if someone accepts particular forms of judaism as given then they have no logical alternative but to regard Israel as the jewish homeland. They may think that jews have no right to return as a people or a nation at the moment, but the branches of judaism who take that attitude tend to be even more discouraging of conversion than others.
