I was quite surprised reading that article. I checked on the French website of this school. They do not have any “contract” with the French State hence they cannot receive money from the State. When they will have this “contratc” they will get the money.

Huh? I know Algeria is a major gas exporter, but I though that the French electricity grid was almost entirely nuclear-powered. Or do the French still use considerable amounts of gas to heat buildings?

(And if you are talking about uranium, then the ability to use it as a political weapon is limited, because uranium’s energy density is so huge that a country could stockpile decades’ worth of supplies.)

If you were right though, it would certainly explain why the French were so determined to prevent the FIS gaining power in Algeria in the ’90s…

Algeria supplies the majority of fuel to French utilities companies, and this country should ask questions about French attitudes to people of Islamic faith.

It goes to show the weakness of Muslims in organising and protecting themselves from such unfair treatments. If France can get away with it, imagine what the UK can do to us.
