Another attack on a Muslim in Tooting

Another Asian man has been attacked near a mosque in Tooting: this time, a 30-year-old, attacked by ‘youths’ after taraweeh at 10:15pm on Tuesday. The attacker is described as a black teenager and police are treating the attack as racially motivated.

This comes after an elderly man was killed on his way back from another mosque in Tooting (the Church Lane Idara-e-Jafariyya mosque) on 31st August; two others were attacked in the same incident. The yobs who killed him had attacked two other elderly people in the week before.

    How do you know? There may have been copycat attacks inspired by the first. It is even worse, in fact, if- as may well be the case- there are more yobs willing to attck elderly people rather than just one small group doing so often, but we do not know which is the case.

    Not many people have commented on- or even reported- that Ekram Haque’s attackers were black.
