A first beta of KOffice 2.0 has been released. This is to encourage users to download and try it, and submit feedback. The following apps are mature enough to be part of KOffice 2.0: KWord, KSpread, KPresenter, KPlato (project manager), Karbon (vector graphics) and Krita (raster graphics, i.e. like GIMP). KOffice 2 features closer inter-application integration than in earlier versions, a unified look and feel, platform independence (i.e. apps will be available on Windows and the Mac) and native OpenDocument support; full changelog here.
