It has been announced at the Gran Canaria Desktop Summit that the upcoming version of Maemo, codenamed Harmattan, will have its application framework based on Qt, while most of the middleware, known as Fremantle, will continue to be based on GNOME technologies. Maemo is an embedded platform, currently based on GTK+, used on Nokia's internet tablets. See the announcement for slides and a video of the GC announcement.
