KDE 4.4: first beta released

A first beta of the KDE Software Compilation v4.4 has been released. Major new features:

• New smart auto-mounter for removables
• Various new subtle animations in windows, decorations, menus and applications
• New search facility and version control integration in Dolphin
• New TimeLine virtual file system for access to recently used items
• KMail: email archiving feature, tag searching and less intrusive error messages
• Support for digital signature checking and multiple download sources in KGet
• New blogging application (Blogilo)
