KDE looking for helpers at S.CA Linux expo

KDE is looking for helpers to be behind the stall at SCALE 8x (Southern California Linux Expo, at the Westin hotel near LAX, 20-21 Feb 2010); they should be users of KDE apps like KOffice, Amarok or the Plasma workspace. Volunteers get free admission. See the link for contact details.

Nokia has released version 4.6.1 of Qt, its cross-platform development framework, along with version 1.3.1 of Qt Creator, its integrated development environment.

Dates set for KDE Multimedia & Education Sprint

Time and place have been set for the jointly hosted KDE multimedia and education sprints: Randa in Switzerland (full details at the Community Wiki here), 20th-25th May 2010. Register yourself at the community Wiki so that details of your travel costs can be sent to the KDE e.V.

PyQt v4.7 released; SIP & QScintilla updates

Riverbank Computing has announced the release of updates to PyQt, SIP and QScintilla.

Major changes in PyQt v4.7 include Qt 4.6 support, new QtMultimedia module, keyword support for optional arguments, support for pickle-able Python objects in QSettings and significantly reduced module sizes on Unix platforms. Download here. Available under old-style Qt dual-licence system.
