The latest maintenance release of KDE, version 4.6.4, has been released; this is a bug-fix release, and the fixes include 5 crashes (changelog here). Downloads (source and some binaries) available from the info page.

Version 1.5.0 of digiKam, the digital photo collection and editing app for KDE, has been released (as has the required kipi plugins). Changes:

  • Fix compilation under windows with TDM-GCC and MSVC compilers
  • Including LensFun library source code as 3rd-party component, especially for windows target where this library is not available

digiKam 1.4.0 released... | digiKam - Photo Management Program

K3b v2.0 released

Version 2.0 of K3b, the KDE-based CD and DVD ripping and burning app, has been released. Changes:

  • Port to KDE Platform 4
  • Always allow manual writing speed selection
  • Use proper toolbars instead of the toolboxes -> nicer laying out with different styles
  • Merged CD and DVD copy dialogs
  • Merged CD and DVD image burning dialogs
  • Merged CD-RW erasing and DVD formatting dialogs

There is a survey being done to test icons for the KDE 4 port of K3b, the CD/DVD burning app which currently uses the KDE 3 libraries. The survey consists of asking you which icons best suit the stated purpose. You can take the survey here.
