Qt 4.4 gets 8/10 review in Linux Format

The August 2008 edition of Linux Format, the high-profile British Linux publication, has given a positive review to version 4.4 of Qt by Graham Morrison. It notes the inclusion of WebKit, Phonon and the ability to put widgets on graphics views. It calls the toolkit "sometimes convoluted, verbose and difficult to understand", but "the best open source cross platform framework available".

polishlinux.org reviews KDE 4 revision 790000

The polishlinux.org website has published a review of a development check-out of KDE 4.1, finding that it offers "better stability and performance" than any previous revision, crashing only once and "the performance was more than satisfactory". Ars Technica does Qt 4.4 preview

Ryan Paul at Ars Technica has done a test of the Qt 4.4 technology preview, which includes the WebKit web rendering module and the KDE-derived Phonon multimedia library. The article contains screenshots, including one of the "bling" effects of the new widget feature in QGraphicsView, and his conclusion, as a GTK user, is that he is "very impressed with the new functionality in Qt 4.4, and ... looking forward to seeing how the KDE community and other Qt users leverage the features".
