She has previously made another video, &#8220;The World of One Room&#8221;, in which she describes how the disease has affected her life: among the years spent bedridden, she has spent several in hospital, unable to speak, paralysed and fed by tube. She improved somewhat, but recently suffered a setback because of another hospital admission during which she suffered neglect. This video shows her first time sitting in a chair in those seven years. Her story is a good example of ME almost at its worst, and should make anyone who still believes that it&#8217;s a primarily psychological condition sit up and notice, as well as emphasise the need for serious biomedical research.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jessica Taylor has severe ME, and has been bedridden for seven years.
