It&#39;s part of the <em>Dispatches<\/em> slot and is on at 8pm.  See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mpacuk.org\/content\/view\/2927\/34\/\">here<\/a> for the MPACUK discussion of the issue (a lot of the women involved are members of MPACUK).<\/p>\n<p>Also, I found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/RTGAM.20061026.wxconiqab26\/BNStory\/specialComment\/home\">this article<\/a> linked off the <em>Guardian<\/em>&#39;s Comment site.  It&#39;s in the Toronto <em>Globe and Mail<\/em> and notes &quot;the spectacle of very powerful male politicians publicly criticizing a small number of women &#8212; who are hardly members of their countries&#39; elites &#8212; for what they choose to wear&quot;, and also the history of immigrants being treated with suspicion due to their foreign dress habits.  (He might have realised, however, that a lot of the women who wear <em>niqab<\/em> in the UK are not immigrants, but their granddaughters.)<\/p>\n<p>Also, those who found my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogistan.co.uk\/blog\/mt.php\/2006\/10\/14\/an_insiders_view_on_niqab\">insider&#39;s view<\/a> from sister Ardo in Ottawa interesting might like to read the experience of a sister in the UK, named Umm Maymoonah.
