OK ... I don't normally give free publicity to blogs which publish lies about Muslims, but this one from "Dhimmi Watch" really does take the proverbial biscuit. (You can read about this and its parent blog, "Jihad Watch", at an earlier entry on this blog.) Apparently the "marvelous Nidra Poller" turned up in America recently with a scare story about how awful it is for Jews in France:
May 7, 2004 - To hear Nidra Poller tell it, you'd think she was describing Germany of the 1930's: the rise of a popular right-wing government; a well-oiled propaganda machine; a ghettoized Jewish community; tolerance for rabid anti-Jewish rhetoric ....
But Poller wasn't describing pre-WWII Germany, she was discussing the France of today, and her words were frightening.
... "Understanding the situation in France is like putting together the pieces of a puzzle. Beginning in the early weeks of September 2000 [at the start of the current wave of Palestinian violence against Israelis], there were massive Pro-Palestinian demonstrations where people began shouting 'Death to the Jews,'" Poller said. "It was illegal, but no one stopped them. Soon it was all right to write 'Death to the Jews' in graffiti on apartment buildings. Before we knew it, synagogues were being burned, buses carrying Jewish school children were stoned, and Jewish children and rabbis were beaten in the streets. Recently, there have been two ritual murders of Parisian Jews by Muslims."
If you don't believe that this quote is real, here's the entry, and here's its source in the Jewish Ledger. Ritual murder! This was a common canard used by anti-Semites in Europe as a means of whipping up hatred against Jews, and it led to numerous innocent Jews being murdered (the myth was that the blood of Christian children was used in making matzos for Passover). There is no such thing as ritual murder in Islam - the only ritual killing is of farm animals and camels for eating! We don't eat people! What she is talking about is hate crime, which is a well-known problem across Europe, and not all the victims are Jews and certainly not all the perpetrators are Muslims. This is nothing less than a new blood libel - it necessitates legal action against Poller or the JL, whoever is to blame for this.
There is a problem with anti-Semitism in France, but the fact is that Muslims are being oppressed as well - after all, it is our girls whose education is being threatened by anti-headscarf laws. (Yes, and their boys.) But how they can compare the current French government to Hitler is beyond me - they are like night and day, but its policies on Muslims are just typical of European intolerance towards anyone different. Jews were persecuted when they were different, Gypsies still are, and now Muslims. But attempts to whip up fear with lies like this are just criminal. This newspaper should be sued as the Dearborn Independent was. "False facts" are explicitly excluded from the First Amendment and accusations of ritual murder against Muslims, in France or anywhere, are just that.

Nidra Poller is not exactly an unbiased source; in the past, she was cited by Robert Spencer regarding how Paris was becoming a bad place to be a Jew because of Muslim violence and public sympathy for Muslims (not for Muslim schoolgirls, though!). She also referred to cases of so-called ritual murder by Muslims of Jews in Paris, “ritual” because they said Allahu akbar (Allah is great). As I pointed out before, that doesn’t make it ritual; it’s still just plain hate crime. [...]
some prominent people with jewish affiliation (race & religion) lied utterly trough their teeth. but don't ever say or even imply that jews are liar. you'd slammed surely into a cold prison.
some people of islamic affiliation lobbed a grenade onto some places in israel or other places for logical or illogical reasons. suddenly all muslims are grenade lobbers and blood thirsty murders. the only sanction you will ever subjected to when you spit these words is an adoration from the mass as a freedom defender. even if you suggesting extermination of the entire islamic countries and people (see: Ann Coulter).
