Back to Ecto
I’ve finally registered my copy of Ecto, a desktop blogging package from Japan. It only cost me about 12 quid, so it’s cheap, although it only lets you submit and manage entries – the real admin work (like dealing with comments) has to be done through the website. But I’ve been having problems with the web submission system hanging (giving an “Internal Server Error”) after posting your entry, before it gets to the bit where you ping the people you want to ping. It’s annoying.
Update: it still produces the Internal Server Errors, although the result is less severe than when this happens on the web (like, the risk of hitting the back button and going to the page which handles the actual posting, resulting in a double post). I’m not sure what’s causing this – it’s only been happening these past few days. I don’t think it’s the current version of MT; I suspect it’s a problem with my web host, or with a blacklist plugin I’ve been using. It’s a real drag though because it makes sending trackbacks inconvenient.
