Legacy of Afghan war

The BBC’s File on Four programme has broadcast a programme about the appalling security situation in southern Afghanistan – major maladminstration by provincial governors with links to such people as drug traffickers, “mujahideen” commanders and the Karzai family, and police who torture people. The situation is so bad there that, despite the fact that in the wake of the 2002 war a lot of people were glad to see the Taliban go, people want them back. There is also an MP3 file of the programme.
