USAid funding forced sterilisation in India

The Guardian reports today that a sterilisation policy is underway in northern India, in which gun licences are being issued in return for men receiving vasectomies – in the case of a revolver licence, this means five at a time! This is resulting in groups of men being sterilised against their will, in some cases before they have children. The scheme is receiving $360,000,000 of US tax-payers’ money, through USAid.
